كهف كاتدرائية الرخام أو ” Marble Cathedral “ يقع هذا الكهف الجميل على ثاني أكبر بحيرة للمياه العذبة في أمريكا الجنوبية وبالضبط في باتاغونيا في تشيلي . و يعتبر هذا الكهف من أكثر الاماكن جذبا للسياحة في هذه المنطقة فهو بالفعل من أجمل كهوف العالم و اروعها من حيث الالوان و الشكل . ان سبب وجود هذا اللون الأزرق الساحر الذي ترونه في الصورة بالاعلي الشديد الشفافيه وكأنه كريستال هو بفعل وجود حبيبات دقيقة جدا من الطمي الجليدي حسب رأي الجيولوجيون أن الاختلاف في انعكاسات الضوء الناتج عنالاختلاف في مستوى الماء يجعل الكهف يظهر و كانه يغير من شكله في اوقات السنة المختلفة، فلون المياه يختلف من التركواز إلى اللون الازرق الغامق اعتمادا على حالة الطقس و الوقت من السنة.
فمثلا في بداية الربيع يكون مستوى الماء في البحيرة منخفضا بسبب عدم ذوبان الكتل الجليدية المحيطة مما يؤدي إلى انعكاس الضوء بصورة مختلفة تماما عما هو عليه في أوقات لاحقة من السنة عندما يؤدي ذوبان الكتل الثليجية الى رفع مستوى الماء بأكثر من متر واحد. و اخيراً أن الوصول الى الكهف ليس بالامر السهل فعلى الزائر السفر جوا من تشيلي الى أقرب مدينة من الكهف و التي تبعد 800 ميل و من ثم السفر برا لمسافة 200 ميل للوصول الى الكهف.يذكر أن الأنهار التي تصب في البحيرة مهددة بالخطر الناجم عن التطور العمراني و بناء السدود الذي تسعى له الحكومة التشيلية.
