Located Qatar (between latitudes 27 24 ° and 10 26 ° 0 north and longitude 45 50 ° and 40 51 ° east), and thus located in the middle of the west coast of the Arabian Gulf, which is a peninsula extending northward in the Gulf waters, followed by a number of islands and a length from the south to the far north about 160 km and a total area of islands, including about 11 427 square kilometers.
Bounded on the south by Saudi Arabia and the south-east of the United Arab Emirates, the State of Bahrain and to the west.
And the State of Qatar is divided administratively into nine municipalities are Doha, Al Rayyan, Al Wakra, Umm Salal, Al Khor, north, Ghuwairiya, Jamilla, flow inward.
Among the most important cities of Doha which is the political capital and the commercial center of the State of Qatar and located in the middle of the east coast of the peninsula of Qatar and the important commercial port and an international airport interview. The second city in terms of importance is the mother happy and located on the coast in the south-eastern region of the country and away from the Doha about 36 km to the south, and where there are industrial parks modern and sophisticated as well as an important trading port and another for the export of oil.

تقع قطر( بين خطي عرض 27 24° و10 26° 0شمالا وخطي طول 45 50° و40 51° شرقا )، وهي بذلك تقع في منتصف الساحل الغربي من الخليج العربي وهي عبارة عن شبة جزيرة تمتد باتجاه الشمال في مياه الخليج ويتبعها عدد من الجزر ويبلغ طولها من الجنوب إلى أقصى الشمال حوالي 160 كم وتبلغ مساحتها الكلية بما فيها الجزر حوالي 11427 كيلومتر مربع .
يحدها من الجنوب المملكة العربية السعودية ومن الجنوب الشرقي دولة الامارات العربية المتحدة ومن الغرب دولة البحرين.
وتقسم دولة قطر إداريا إلى تسع بلديات هي الدوحة ، الريان، الوكرة، أم صلال، الخور ، الشمال ، الغويرية ، الجميلية ، جريان الباطنة .
ومن أهم مدنها الدوحة وهي العاصمة السياسية والمركز التجاري لدولة قطر وتقع في منتصف الساحل الشرقي لشبه جزيرة قطر وفيها ميناء تجاري هام ومطار دولي حديث . المدينة الثانية من حيث الأهمية هي أم سعيد وتقع على الساحل في المنطقة الجنوبية الشرقية من البلاد وتبعد عن الدوحة حوالي (36) كم جنوبا ، وتوجد فيها مجمعات صناعية حديثة ومتطورة بالاضافة إلى ميناء تجاري هام وآخر لتصدير النفط .
تتصف شبه جزيرة قطر بسطح منبسط بوجه عام باستثناء بعض الهضاب قليلة الارتفاع في الشمال الغربي - ويتميز سطحها ببعض التلال الرملية والكلسية المتناثرة وأكثرها ارتفاعا هي مرتفعات دخان التي تصل إلى علو (35) مترا . هذا وتوجد الخضرة الطبيعية في البقاع الشمالية بينما تغطي الرمال والسهول الملحية المناطق الجنوبية .
تتميز قطر بصيف حار يمتد من يونيو لغاية ( اغسطس- منتصف سبتمبر) أما الشتاء فهو دافئ مع قليل من الأمطار ويمتد من ديسمبر حتى نهاية فبراير . هذا وتتصف اشهر مارس وأبريل ومايو وأكتوبر ونوفمبر بأنها أكثر أشهر السنة اعتدالا .
