و يعد أعظم الشلالات الطبيعية في القارة الأمريكية
يقع في الحدود المتاخمة البرازيلية مع الارجنتين
وقريب من مثلث الحدود بين الارجنتين والبرازيل والباراجواي
سبب تسمية حنجرة الشيطان
لأن المياه تهوي من ارتفاع يزيد عن 90 متراً محدثةً دوياً
هائلاً في مكان أطلق عليه ((حنجرة الشيطان))
